Food Truck Fiascos and Other Stories!

Ready for a story of love, friendship, and tacos? Karl Goodson & The Food Truck Fiasco is finally here! Well… almost. You may have noticed that I had to bump the release date back by a week. I just had a million things happen all during the week I was supposed to be preparing for launch. So now, Karl will be available in ebook format on September 13!

If you want his ridiculous story as a paperback, be sure you get your order in THIS WEEK so that I can buy enough inventory for everyone. It’ll be a little later arriving, but a signed paperback is worth it, right?

Karl Goodson and The Food Truck Fiasco

(A Reishosan: Samurai Defenders Novella)

Karl Goodson, our favorite chaotic samurai superhero, is tasked with picking up an engagement ring. It wouldn’t be a problem for a normal person, but Karl is a hot mess. So, of course, he loses the ring. But he can’t just lose it either. He has to drop it in a food truck somewhere in San Francisco. Now he and the rest of the Reishosan have to track the ring down before it’s lost for good.

Want More Stories?

So, the biggest, most exciting news I’ve got THIS YEAR: I am launching a Patreon subscription.

The story of my samurai superheroes is only one part of a giant universe of novels I’ve been building for 30 years. They are all ready to go. I’ve just been hesitant to pull the trigger because I wasn’t confident that I could keep up with the writing demands. So 2022 has been a year of learning to be consistent, and it has worked. I’ve been averaging 3,000 words a day for most of the year, and I’ve got enough content already prepared that it’s time to stop lollygagging around and launch this thing.

I have so many stories I want to tell and share, and I write so much faster than I can publish. So many of you awesome readers have been begging me for more stories, and I want more than anything to provide that for you.

So this is how I’m going to do it:

For a monthly fee (we’re talking $3), I will send you a raw chapter of the story I’m currently writing every week. That means you’ll get four to five chapters of my current novel every month. Then, at the end of the year, you’ll get the completed, edited, ebook version of that novel FREE. I estimate that will give you at least two full-length novels from me every year, plus a bunch of other free stories and shorts and character art stuff as well.

If you would PREFER a paperback version, I’ve got to ask for $10 a month. The cost of paper and printing and shipping has gone up so high, which is the reason for the significant jump in price. However, for that level, I’ll include a bunch of other features along with it. (There will just need to be enough people signed up at that level to sustain it.)

REGARDLESS, everyone signed up will get first access to new stories and shorts and character art and cover designs. You’re going to be the ones who help me choose what stories go in the anthologies and collections I’ll be releasing. And, who knows, maybe I’ll even need help creating a few characters.

World Walker ($3)

Light Seeker ($10)

Honestly, what I’d recommend is that you sign up for the lower tier (the $3/month) one and get the ebooks. Then, you can get the paperback versions when I release them if you still want them. That’s what I’d do….

I still envision this story growing far beyond books. I’ve got plans for a web comic and dreams for things much bigger than this, but in order to get to that place, I need the audience to grow. And it’s hard to grow an audience without the story itself. So my focus over the next few years is going to be getting as much content out into the world as possible.

If you want to join this crazy ride, consider yourself invited.

I have to tell you, I rarely look at or engage in blogs, but I am SO glad I checked into yours today! I just finished reading Ronnie Akkard and the Brotherhood of Blades (which I picked up at Realm Makers!) today and it was just what my soul needed. Great characters. Great story. Great laughs. So many laughs. And I desperately want more of these kids, so the news in this post is some of the best I’ve heard this side of the known universe! I’m so stoked about this!! A crazy ride, you say? Count me in.
