Meg and Barb must work together to bring down one of the strange creatures attacking Palayta Village. But where did the creature come from?

Barb makes a surprising discovery in Meg's bedroom, but before she and Meg can talk about it, one of the Josharon Villages is attacked!

Barb pushes her luck with Velanna's hidden temper, and, in spite of herself, Meg begins to find that she likes Barb Taylor.

Danny runs into Jim in the hallway as he's looking for Velanna and guides him to the great library where they wait together.
