When all else fails, pull the chain

0111152137Ever have one of those moments where you feel really stupid? Well, I turned on the lights in my bedroom one evening, and they didn’t switch on. The other lights in my second floor quasi-apartment were working, but the lights on the fan over my bed weren’t. I went to bed and decided to figure it out in the morning. So when I woke up, I stared at the darkened lights for a while, trying to figure out what to do.

Now, I hadn’t drunk any coffee, and I was scrambling to get out the door. So I mentioned the problem to my dad as I was running out. I got home that night and asked him about it, and he said: “Go upstairs, switch your light on, and pull the chain for the lights.”

Yup. I’d just forgotten to pull the chain.

We all have those dumb moments, I suppose. =)
