The apricots are blooming, so expect snow or hail

wpid-0316151706a.jpgThe first day of spring is just around the corner, and it was nearly 90 degrees in Kansas yesterday. But here’s the problem: Spring is never just spring in Kansas. Maybe it was nearly 90 yesterday, but today the high won’t get to 60.

This is why we only get apricot harvests at Safe Haven Farm once every three or four years, because every three or four years we actually get a spring that doesn’t start with snow or extreme wind or hail.
