The Nomad

Katie isn’t a nomad in the strictest sense because she has a house she lives in … but she’s only there rarely. The rest of the time she’s traveling around the world taking photographs and interviewing people on camera about ministries and missions opportunities around the world.

I’ve known this crazy kid for 20+ years. She doesn’t remember meeting me, but I remember her when she was about 4 with a blond bowl-shaped hair cut. And somehow in the last 5 years or so, we discovered that we share a brain.

What She Does

Katie is a scriptwriter and video producer for a global missions group headquartered in Carlisle, England. It’s been tough having her overseas, but it gives me a fantastic reason to go for a visit!

She lives in England, but since 2013, she’s been in Portugal, France, Germany, Sweden, Italy, Siberia, Greece, and others. And this year she’s been to Thailand and Myanmar.

It sounds glamorous, maybe, but after a while that kind of international travel just gets old. She did a fantastic blog post about what life looks for her on the Crosshair Press blog some time back. You should read it when you have a chance.

She’s also an author. Her first book, coauthored with a friend, is releasing at the end of May! You should like her Facebook page too! It’s fantastic. I know because I’ve already read it. 😉

Need to Know

katie3For our trip, Katie is our local expert and translator, for the times when we just can’t understand what’s happening. She knows all the local Northern England hot spots, like the Shabby Scholar and the Dutch Uncle and the paths along Hadrian’s Wall.

What’s great about Katie is that she’s also a writer–a dang good one! So you can read about her adventures on her webpage, www.storyforhisglory.com, where she has amazing photographs. You can also sign up for her newsletter, where you can hear hilarious stories about a Kansas girl living in England.
