None of us have the power to change much of anything in our lives, not without help. When we get to these points in life (and all of us do), we have to hold on to something.
God could only buy back broken things, and He would be the greatest Hero ever. But remember that He takes it a step further. He redeems and restores.
I can acknowledge an obstacle without letting it discourage me. God has made me a conqueror. God has made me victorious. Through Him, I can do impossible things. And so can you.
Bad stuff happens. But God is big enough to take our worst moments and turn them into something beautiful. Then, once we find hope, we can help others find it too.
Too many times I try to fight battles I can’t win. I jump into the fray because I want to be useful. I want to show God that He can trust me, but what if He’s just asking me to be still?
We don’t praise God enough. We’re too stuck in our own heads. We’re trapped in our own little worlds, unable to see past the darkness to the light on the other side. But God can see.
You may be in a dark place in your life right now. I get that. Everyone has been there. But you don’t have to stay there. And getting out of it for a little while might actually help you see your situation clearer.
I yearn for that stressed-out, busy feeling to make me feel like I’m accomplishing something, to help me feel like I’m doing something important. And that’s just foolish. God never intended for us to live that way.
Slogging along through life gets really old really fast, especially if you’re stuck in a period of waiting for God to act.
